Caring for Your Newborn or Processing a Difficult Birth
Postpartum Support, Newborn Care & Early Birth Trauma Integration
The early days after birth can be both beautiful and overwhelming.
Some families arrive here because their newborn is unsettled, feeding feels harder than expected, or the transition into parenthood feels intense. Others sense that the birth experience itself — for baby, parent, or both — needs time, care, and support to integrate.
At Early Beginnings Wellness, we offer calm, trauma-informed postpartum support that centres the nervous system, honours what has been experienced, and helps families find steadiness in the early days.
How We Support You
Postpartum & Newborn Support in the Early Weeks
Our work together may support you to:
Help your newborn settle and regulate more easily
Support nervous system recovery after birth
Gently integrate challenging or unexpected birth experiences
Strengthen parent–baby connection and attunement
Feel more confident and resourced as new parents
This support may be helpful whether challenges are practical, emotional, or rooted in how birth unfolded.
Modalities We May Integrate
Support is tailored to your needs and may include:
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) for for newborns and parents, supporting nervous system regulation and integration
Pre- and perinatal psychology–informed support to gently explore birth experiences and early stress responses
Parent coaching to support attunement, confidence, and responsive caregiving
Breastfeeding and early feeding support, as needed
BCST may be offered:
in person (where possible)
alongside online support
or in collaboration with a trusted local practitioner
Early Postpartum Birth Trauma
Not all birth experiences feel complete or settled right away.
You may notice:
heightened stress or anxiety
emotional numbness or overwhelm
difficulty settling or connecting
a sense that something remains unfinished
Early, gentle support can help parents and babies process what was experienced — without needing to relive or analyze it.
This work focuses on safety, regulation, and integration, not on labels or diagnoses.
Support After Pregnancy or Infant Loss
Some families arrive here carrying grief from miscarriage, stillbirth, infant loss, or pregnancy loss — recent or from the past.
This kind of loss can deeply affect the nervous system, the body, the heart, and the relationship — especially when it is not fully acknowledged or supported.
At Early Beginnings Wellness, we offer compassionate, trauma-informed support for parents navigating pregnancy and infant loss, including:
Emotional and nervous system support after loss
Gentle somatic care to support regulation and grounding
Support for couples grieving together — and differently
Care during subsequent pregnancies following loss
This support honours your experience without rushing grief or imposing timelines.
You are not expected to “move on.” You are supported in being with what is.
(Note: clinical counselling titles are intentionally not used; support is grounded in pre- and perinatal psychology, somatic care, and relational support.)
Who This Support Is For
This journey may be supportive if you:
Have a newborn and feel overwhelmed or unsettled
Experienced a difficult, unexpected, or intense birth
Sense your baby or your body needs support integrating birth
Are grieving pregnancy or infant loss
Want trauma-informed care that honours both parent and baby
You don’t need to be in crisis to seek support.
Early care can be profoundly preventative.
There is no “right” way to feel after birth — and no correct pace for healing or integration.
This work is about listening, supporting regulation, and restoring a sense of safety — for you, your baby, and your family as a whole.
If you’re unsure what kind of postpartum or newborn support would feel most helpful, a Discovery Call offers a calm, compassionate place to talk things through.
